Fishing was very good the entire trip. While nothing big was caught, besides a couple of 5's caught during practice days, a good number of bass were caught from 1 to 3 lbs. This is a great sign of a healthy fishery. Especially considering the fact that the club focused most of its efforts in a relatively small area. Forecasts were predicting wind the last two days and most anglers got into finding fish without having to go too far. They were there and they were chewing pretty good most of the time. Jumping from spot to spot was usually rewarded with fish at every stop. Some better than others, of course, but if you got the timing right, you had a blast.
The weigh-in was tight and very competitive. Troy, K-Mac, Dave, and Brian all got on good ones that averaged over 3 pounds per fish (as did our Star-Junior fisherman, Timothy Duff). The rest followed suite with very good bags that were a big fish or just one bite away from being at the top.

What a great turn out and fun time on the water with Hazzard County Bassmasters!
Brian came in today with another great bag of Bass to take first place on the Flats today. Brian focused on grass and wood in his favorite area for this time of year. Brian tipped the scales at just over 10 lbs on his 3 fish limit. While Ken Berry made a little noise of his own coming in with 8 lbs 10 oz on 3. Things got tight further back with tough fishing that yielded lots of 13 to 14 inch bass in the prime locations today. A keeper was a treat to catch today, as the bite was there, but finicky at best. One thing that came out of this is a definite shake-up in the points race.....Things are tightening-up as they always seem to do.

John comes out on top in a close finish at Tydings today. Kevin Mac took 2nd place once again and keeps his place securely at the top of the standings. Ken Eng and Troy had a strong finish and things are tightening even more as we move into the 3rd leg of the Flats. The key today was Grass and cleaner water.

Today's weigh-in may be huge in the scheme of things. The points race has been turned upside down and the rest of the season is set for a thrilling run to the Mr Bass title and the all-important, game-changing, head-spinning finish we all know as the Double-Points CLASSIC for all the marbles.
The Top 3 are separated by only 4 points! John has joined Joe and Kevin Mac at the top of the points race and erased any early lead that Joe and Mac had amassed with strong finishes by all 3 anglers through-out the first 6 tournaments. Then there's a pile up of strong bass catchin machines from 4th to 8th place. The WILDCARD TEAM tournament is next. This should be an interesting event. We will meet before this tournament and set all pairings and details.
